Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy takes place through a professional relationship between the therapist and the client. This professional relationship is important in the therapeutic process and as such it is important for you as the client to feel comfortable with the therapist you see. Through this professional relationship various psychological theories and therapeutic principles and techniques are drawn on with the goal to bring about change and optimising psychological well-being. Furthermore, the therapeutic space is confidential and free from judgement which aims to allow clients to gain insight into and awareness of their feelings, thoughts and behaviours in a safe space. It is important for the client and the therapist to be engaged and dedicated throughout the therapeutic process and through insight and awareness healing and enrichment may take place.
I mainly work from a Psychodynamic theoretical orientation, however I draw on a number of other approaches which I have been trained in. The theoretical approaches used will be tailored to the client’s unique needs, goals and presenting challenges.
I offer individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults.
